1. What does Youthful Essence do for me?
Youthful Essence is a personal microdermabrasion skin renewal system that helps reduce the visible signs of aging to reveal fresh, glowing skin from head to toe, providing optimum exfoliation. Youthful Essence polishes the top layer of dead skin cells with mineral crystals and its use should be restricted to no more than 2 - 4 times a week in the comfort and convenience of your own home. One of the main benefits of Youthful Essence is that it helps to exfoliate the skin, refine pores, and keep the skin radiant.

2. How do I use it properly?
You can use Youthful Essence® on your face, neck and chest. Follow these easy instructions carefully each time you use your Youthful Essence® Personal Microdermabrasion System. These instructions may be found in the brochure included with your initial shipment of the product.:

1. Cleanse your entire face and neck or other area with a mild cleanser using gentle, circular strokes. Rinse well with warm water and pat dry with a soft towel.
2. Press the sponge applicator to the head of the Resurfacing Tool until it snaps into place. Dip the sponge into the Youthful Essence® Vitamin-Enriched Resurfacing Cream jar and dot your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin with generous amounts of the cream.
3. Turn on the Resurfacing Tool and smooth the cream into your skin. Apply light to medium pressure and use upward, circular strokes. Continue for 2 to 5 minutes.
4. Rinse well with warm water and pat dry with a soft towel. If crystals are left behind after using the Youthful Essence® system, use a mild cleanser, rinse with warm water, and blot dry with a towel. Continue with your regular beauty routine.

Important Tips
Clean the applicator with hot water and soap after each use. Do not dip an unwashed applicator into the Vitamin-Enriched Resurfacing Cream! And allow the sponge to dry before reusing.

3. How do I apply the Youthful Essence Crystal Resurfacing Cream and how much should I use?
Simply dip a clean Sponge Applicator into the Youthful Essence Crystal Resurfacing Cream and apply ¼ inch of the Cream over the Applicator. Dot the Cream on the areas to be worked and begin the treatment. When treating larger areas on the body, more Cream will need to be used. Never dip an unclean Applicator in the Cream.

4. How much pressure should I use when using the Youthful Essence Resurfacing Tool?
Use light to medium pressure. If you experience redness or irritation, you are using too much pressure.

5. When should I use Youthful Essence?
Personal preference dictates whether you use it morning or at night. Some prefer to use it before showering as the flow of the water helps remove any crystal residue. Always use on clean skin.

6. How often should I replace a Sponge Applicator?
After 12-24 uses, depending on the types of treatments performed. Body treatments will cause more wear than face and neck treatments.

7. How should I clean the Sponge Applicator?
For best results, use an anti-bacterial cleanser and hot water. Clean and rinse thoroughly and squeeze out the excess water. Air dry. Allow the Sponge Applicator to dry completely before using again.

8. How do I reorder Youthful Essence supplies?
Through the convenience of the "Crystals are a Girl's Best Friend Club," a supply of Resurfacing Cream and two applicator sponges will arrive at your home every 60 days automatically. Joining the Club, which is no additional charge and which has no minimum order, is the best way to ensure that you will never run short of this rejuvenating product.

9. Is Youthful Essence non-comedogenic?
Yes.

10. Is Youthful Essence hypoallergenic?
No, Youthful Essence is not hypoallergenic.

11. Is the Youthful Essence Resurfacing Cream oil-free?
No, it contains amounts of from natural sources -- safflower oil and wheat germ oil.

12. How old should you be before using the product?
The product is recommended for adults; users should be at least 12 years of age.

13. Is the Resurfacing Tool supposed to rotate?
No, it vibrates. The tool was created so that you can move it in a circular motion on your skin as you apply the cream in order to provide you more control.

14. Is it normal to have a residue on my skin after using Youth Essence?
Yes, the crystals are left behind after the nourishing moisturizers in our Vitamin-Enriched Resurfacing Creame have been worked into the skin; they may be completely removed by splashing generous amounts of water on your face and patting it dry until they are gone or even by using Youthful Essence right before showering, in order to rinse it off thoroughly.

15. What if I get the crystals in my eyes or mouth?
You will not be harmed. Flush/rinse the area thoroughly with water until the crystal is removed.

16. Is it necessary to work the crystals into my skin with my hand after using the Youthful Essence Resurfacing Tool?
No. The exfoliation one receives from the Youthful Essence Resurfacing Tool is ample. Anything further is unnecessary and may cause irritation.

17. The exfoliation seems too aggressive or uncomfortable on my skin.
Exfoliation is necessary for healthy, balanced skin. Some skin types require less exfoliation than others. Spend only 1-2 minutes on the area being treated and use less pressure when massaging your skin with the Tool.

18. Can you use other types of exfoliation creams with this tool?
This would not be recommended. For example, customers should not use products containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids or Retinol while using Youthful Essence because they can cause increased sensitivity. With any products that exfoliate, you want to be careful how often and when you use them. It may be a good idea to conduct a patch test on your hand or wrist. This will allow you to test both the other exfoliating product and Youthful Essence in a small area to ascertain your skin's sensitivity. You can then decide if you want to use them in conjunction with each other. Youthful Essence includes specific directions for use, as well as precautionary statements. We recommend you read all of the material provided on Youthful Essence and on any other exfoliating product. If you have additional concerns or questions, we also recommend that you speak with your health care practitioner.

19. Should a Youthful Essence treatment be painful?
Never. When using Youthful Essence to exfoliate the skin, a tingling or invigorating sensation can be left. However, this sensation should never feel painful or unpleasant. If you are not experiencing a pleasant sensation, use less pressure when using the Youthful Essence Resurfacing Tool. If pain occurs, stop use.

20. Can this be used if I have sensitive skin, Rosacea or bad acne?
Please read the cautionary statement in the Youthful Essence brochure, which states individuals should consult a health care practitioner before using Youthful Essence if they have Rosacea, pustule acne or any other sensitive skin disorders. This product can cause acne breakouts in some individuals and those prone to acne breakouts may not be able to use this product. The benefit of Youthful Essence is that it helps to exfoliate the skin and unclog pores, which hopefully keeps the skin clear and prevents future breakouts, but results may vary with each individual.

21. Is Youthful Essence FDA Approved?
No, because it is a cosmetic, not a drug or medical device.

22. Where is the Lot # on the Resurfacing Tool and applicator sponges?
There are no lot #s on these two products because they are the application tools and not the actual skin care products.

23. Can you add water on the sponge applicator with the crystal cream?
This is not recommended as the Resurfacing Cream has been formulated already with nourishing moisturizers.

24. Do you have any catalogs or literature to send to me?
Youthful Essence does not have a catalog at this time. We recommend that you thoroughly review the brochure and order form that are included in your club kit. Or if you have a specific question to ask use our Customer Service form.

25. What other Youthful Essence products are available besides the Resurfacing Cream?
Besides our Youthful Essence Cleansing Facial Wash, we now also offer Youthful Essence Reenergizing Facial Mist and Toner as well as our new Youthful Essence Daily Protection Moisturizer SPF 15.
